Mont-Sainte-Anne

Several Betties & their families visited Mont Sainte Anne (Quebec) for the World Cup races and for some downhill mountain bike fun. Since some of the trails were closed for the races, we rode primarily three trails: La Tordue (blue - difficult, 4.8 km), La Grisante (red - more difficult, 6.0 km), and La Vietnam (red, 9.0 km). We had a great weekend, and by the date of this posting, most of the bruising has faded. Betty D.'s Friday run on La Tordue ended with a Yeti tatoo on her right thigh, and to add insult to INJURY, when she attempted to come untangled from her bike, the right handle bar got wedged into her shorts and pulled her shorts down. It's a good thing there weren't more riders that day - if there is anything more embarrassing than being found face down in a pile of rocks, it's being found face down in a pile of rocks with your arse hanging out. Anway, before the weekend was over, Betty D. got a new nickname from fellow Betties (Train wreck). Betty E. had her first downhill runs on the mountain that weekend and is now a downhill goddess, and Betty B. made sure we all brushed our teeth before retiring to our tents each night. I should mention the races rocked, and the husbands and sons also rode (and lived to tell about it). Can't wait to go back...
