Wilderness Betty

Inspired by our buddy Roxane to be impulsive, three of us Betties decided to go big when the opportunity presented itself to ditch work and go for a hike. We met in Ashland, Maine at 4:00 p.m. and decided to burn it for Baxter State Park for an evening hike. Although we didn't have a real plan (where would we hike?), we had food, bug spray, and a sense of adventure...what else did we need? We chose Horse Mountain because of its proximity - it only took 1 hr and 45 minutes round trip to hike it. Even though it's always exciting to visit a new mountain, the hike itself wasn't anywhere near as dangerous as the ride home. We had two near-death experiences, one involving a deer and a trailer truck and the other involving a crazy-arse moose that sprung from the ditch on a dead run.

Anyway...we were inspired by the simple fact that it was Tuesday and why not celebrate Tuesday? Why not try something new or visit a new place this week?
